Eligibility Criteria for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2023
The level of schooling needed to sit for the SSC CHSL exam differs depending on the position for which a candidate is applying. The qualifications include the following:
- Data Entry Operator (DEO)/ DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Ministry of Culture:
- 12th Standard pass in Science streams with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
- LDC/ JSA and DEO/ DEO Grade ‘A’ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry mentioned above):
- Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
How to Apply for SSC CHSL 2023
Following are the steps for submitting an online SSC CHSL 2023 application:

The SSC CHSL Recruitment 2023 selection process consists of the following Stages.
There are two levels of the SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) exam: Tier 1 and Tier 2.

SSC CHSL 2023 Tier 1 Exam:
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are part of a computer-based test (CBT).
- General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness are the four categories.
- There are 25 questions in each segment, for a total of 100 questions and a maximum possible score of 200.
- The exam lasts 60 minutes (80 minutes for candidates who qualify for a scribe).
SSC CHSL 2023 Tier 2 Exam:
- This descriptive essay is meant to evaluate the candidates’ Hindi/English writing abilities.
- Candidates must prepare a letter/application of 150–200 words and a 200–250 word essay.
- The maximum score for this assignment is 100.
- The exam lasts 60 minutes (80 minutes for candidates who qualify for a scribe).
After qualifying for CHSL 2023 Tier-1 and Teir -2
- A typing test is being administered to candidates as a skill test.
- Candidates must show up for a talent test to be considered for the position of Data Entry Operator (DEO), which requires them to type 8,000 key depressions per hour on a computer.
- Candidates must take a typing test in order to be considered for the positions of LDC/JSA and postal/sorting assistant. They must type on a computer at a speed of 35 words per minute (WPM) in English and 30 WPM in Hindi.
- For DEO, the exam lasts 15 minutes; for LDC/JSA, 10 minutes; and for postal/sorting assistants, 10 minutes.
- For DEO, the exam lasts 15 minutes; for LDC/JSA, 10 minutes; and for postal/sorting assistants, 10 minutes.
- The test is a prerequisite.
- The candidates’ documents are verified once they successfully complete both of these steps.
